Reviews for Wuss

Ragin Pit Magazine

Every now and then in this line of work, something comes along that catches you completely off-guard. The Kerosene Man, a one-man band helmed by Belgium's Steve Gillespie, is one of those things. The debut album Wuss was completely written and recorded in his living room, although mixing and mastering was handled at The Buzzy Studio. The music is where it gets interesting, a hard rock/metal hybrid with just a hint of outlaw country and gravelly vocals.

Steve is a musical centipede! And this shows, very well on his debut cd. You have to respect the guy! There is no doubt that the songs have been put together beautifully

I can do nothing more than show respect for this guy. It's clear that this music comes straight from his heart."

Against a background of a very bad mood he brings you numbers in which you can easily recognise yourself: while your stuck in traffic, when the cat/dog has yet again shat in the planter, or when your neighbour or girlfriend deserves to be shot in the head because of intolerable behaviour. Steve is pissed and that's a good thing for the creative, simple, sleazy, rocking metal"
